Funding for Caloundra Aussie Rules Club

State Member for Caloundra Mark McArdle has today donated $5000 to the Caloundra Australian Football Club to build a dedicated equipment storage facility on the grounds.

It comes as Club President Russell Evans told Mr McArdle that the Club, which is home to the Caloundra Panthers AFL, the Juniors Panthers and Little Athletics, is in serious need of a secure facility to store important equipment.

“The Caloundra Australian Football Club is, without a doubt an integral part of Caloundra’s community and I am pleased to be a part the continued effort to get these facilities updated for the good of everyone who utilises them.” Mr McArdle said.

Club President Russell Evans said that the $5000 would be used to build a dedicated shed to store the club’s equipment which currently lives within the club house and on the grounds.

“One of the Club’s real challenges at the moment is a complete lack of storage and because we have no storage everything ends up in our Club House.” Mr Evans said.

“It might not seem like a serious issue but the Club House is an important part of any sport and should be prioritised for its purpose of fostering comradery in our teams and supporters. Mr Evans said.

“This Club isn’t just about sport, it promotes family togetherness, friendship and an overall healthy lifestyle. Anything that can be done to better support what this club stands for is a win for our community.” Mr McArdle concluded.

Ends.
