The Caloundra community are again called on to gather on 25 May to share a cuppa with State Member for Caloundra Mark McArdle and the Rotary Club of Caloundra Pacific for the annual Biggest Morning Tea to support the vital work of Cancer Council Queensland.
Now in its fifth year, Mr McArdle’s successful community fundraiser will again be held in partnership with the Rotary Club of Caloundra Pacific and is open to everyone in the community for just a gold coin donation.
“I am very pleased to be joined by Caloundra Pacific Rotary Club again this year because we share the belief that this morning tea is an important opportunity for people to ‘gather, share and give’.” Mr McArdle said.
“Together with the Caloundra community we held a very successful event in 2017. We filled the CCSA Hall and raised important funds for the Cancer Council’s support programs.
“Most importantly this event brings our community together for a delicious morning tea where we can stand with our neighbours who are dealing with the devastating impact of a cancer diagnosis or family members of cancer sufferers.”
Rotary Club President Peter Higgs agrees that these types of community events serve not only as fundraisers for a good cause but also provide an opportunity for people to enjoy a morning out with their neighbours.
“Caloundra’s Biggest Morning Tea is always a great event to be a part of – both for our Club members and for the guests who attend.” Mr Higgs said.
“For a gold coin donation you will be treated to a handmade morning tea featuring delicious savories and sweets, you will hear from guest speakers and have a chance to win door prizes, while getting out of the house and meeting new people in your community.
“All this and you will be supporting a cause that has touched many of us in some way.” Mr Higgs said.
“Our Biggest Morning Tea will again host three guest speakers including Cancer Council Queensland CEO Chris McMillan who will let us know how the funds raised on the day will support patients. We will also hear from a medical professional from Sunshine Coast Health Services and a local cancer survivor.” Mr McArdle said.
“We will have lots of information about services on the Coast, there will be raffles you can participate in and a photographer will even take photos of you and your group so you can look back on this fun-filled morning.”
“So bring your gold coin and join us for what is certain to be the biggest and best Caloundra’s Biggest Morning Tea yet.” Mr McArdle concluded.
Caloundra’s Biggest Morning Tea will be held on Friday 25th May from 9:00am at the CCSA Hall at 1 Nutley Street Caloundra. Entry will be by gold coin donation and RSVPs can be made by contacting the Caloundra Electorate Office on 07 5329 4100 by 19 May or by visiting www.markmcardlemp.com
