1 March 2017

State Member for Caloundra Mark McArdle will again play host for Caloundra’s Biggest Morning Tea on Friday 26th May to support the vital work of the Cancer Council.

Now in its fourth year, Mr McArdle’s successful community fundraiser will be held in partnership with the Rotary Club of Caloundra Pacific with 2017 expected to be the biggest year yet.

“I am very pleased to be joined by the Rotary Club this year because we share the belief that this morning tea is an important opportunity for people to gather, share and give.” Mr McArdle said.

“Together with the Caloundra community we can help raise funds for the Cancer Council’s support programs, but most importantly we can stand with our neighbours who are dealing with the devastating impact of a cancer diagnosis.”

With 3362 new cancer diagnosis on the Sunshine Coast in 2016, Mr McArdle said that the need for complimentary patient services and community education is more important than ever.

“In our region 1 in 2.4 people are expected to be diagnosed with some form of cancer in their lifetime.” Mr McArdle said

“But education around healthy lifestyles and prevention empowers us all.” Mr McArdle said.

Caloundra’s Biggest Morning tea will be held on Friday 26th May from 9:30am at the CCSA Hall at 1 Nutley Street Caloundra. Entry will be by gold coin donation and RSVPs can be made by contacting the Caloundra Electorate Office on 07 5329 4100 by 19 May.
