State Member for Caloundra Mark McArdle has today thanked the community for making this the most successful year to date for nominations in the Caloundra Electorate Community Awards.
Mr McArdle confirmed that a total of 77 nominations were submitted by members of the community to highlight the outstanding achievements of individuals, groups or businesses within the Caloundra Electorate.
“The nominations we have received are double that of last year. It is heartening to see that there are so many people in our community who want to celebrate the work of others.” Mr McArdle said.
“It is especially heartening to see so many young people nominated this year in our two youth categories – young achiever and young sports achiever of the year.” Mr McArdle
The award categories also include Sport Achiever, Environmental Contributor, Business Achiever, Community Volunteer, Group and Event, as well as the top award of Caloundra Hall of Fame Identity. The winners for each of the nine award categories will be announced on Friday 3 November at a ceremony held at the CCSA Hall in Caloundra.
“These awards are a reminder of the important work being done by dedicated people, right here in Caloundra as well as Landsborough, Beerwah and Mooloolah.” Mr McArdle said.
